Cherry Childe, life member of the Royal Academy of Dance, teaches classical ballet (RAD) and tap dancing (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) at the Elderkin Studio, Trinity Church and Halls, Rodborough Rd, Golders Green, North London, NW11 8EG. Ballet classes are open to pupils from two and a half to adults.

Her Speciality is to pay individual attention to pupils within the class, therefore keeping the class numbers small. She is accompanied by a pianist for most classes and personally teaches all the ballet and tap classes, with grade 8 pupils helping where necessary - giving them an opportunity of teaching experience.

Cherry is a highly experienced teacher and has been teaching in Golders Green, North London, for over 20 years. Passed pupils have gone into the English National Ballet and West End productions.

Ballet exams are taken by most pupils, but are not compulsory. Performances and open classes take place at the end of term.

She likes to meet pupils and parents in order to find the best suitable Ballet or tap class. Pupils and parents are advised to watch a class (free), then try a couple of classes (£7 each) before committing.

Ballet and tap teaches good posture and a good awareness of space, strengthens muscles, loosens tendons, and is a social activity: all important skills for children and later adult life. It also provides for good exercise, enough of which is not always present in schools.
